After 48 hours processing the progression indicates completion 108% but the task is not marked as 'completed' and my laptop goes into 'Standby' which means no processing is done anymore.
How can I save and complete this job. |

The computer should not go into standby at all, but should download more workunits and keep going. I am not sure why this is happening.
----------------------------------------Standby could be getting set in Windows. Control panel power options Put computer to sleep [never] On my desktop I set the MONITOR to standby after 20 minutes, but the computer should always remain running. Do you have checked in BOINC preferences [x] While computer is in use It is not a good idea to run at 100% extensively, only on batteries. I assume that it is on electric power. [ ] While computer is on batteries I saw a workunit go up to 108%, but that was only for less than a minute. It finished and then showed 100%. Once you get the computer off standby, it should complete. If not, we may have to ask to see some boinc messages.

The computer should not go into standby at all, but should download more workunits and keep going. I am not sure why this is happening. Standby could be getting set in Windows. You have to know that my laptop is an 1999 state of the art (Windows 98SE). I let it only do DDDT tasks as they did not take too much time. Now the DDDT tasks already take 8 hours on my fastest computers I have set te laptop not to allow additional tasks. So this was the last task on this laptop. However the task completion was going over the 100% tot 108% and then the laptop fell asleep. This means that the computer did not make use of the processor at all. The task is still in incomplete status but it does not do anything. So my question is: how do I get rid of this task without destroying the work done. PCHooft |

Can you please MANUALLY exit BOINC (recommended for all W98 computers) and boot and restart BOINC and post us the startup log from the BOINC mgr Message tab so we can understand the setup.
----------------------------------------The 100-109% DDDT phase is when the job is already done and the pack-up verification routine is performed before sending the result. Your PC going to sleep suggest that science process has frozen up or is looping. To confirm one or the other look in the Task Manager for a WCG process and see how much CPU time is being used. ttyl

Hope this may help to find the solution. |
