It used to be possible to change a device name. Is this no longer possible?
(I quickly searched and couldn't find an answer) |

Is the BOINC Device name by coincidence the same as the name you gave the computer when you configured the OS? If so, that's where you need to change it. WCG will adopt that device name change on next client contact.

Fair Enough. In case, the Device Name has different references if you search around. It's also known as Host Name, Computer Name, Domain Name and probably 1 or 2 more. A previous discussion under the title "Rename Computer Name" is here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=12342

Thanks Sekerob. Apparently the device is the same as the Host Name. Good to know!
