Hi
----------------------------------------In Boinc Preferences, One of the settings is for "Memory Usage when Computer is in use". What criterion does BOINC use to decide that the computer is in use (eg another app running but no cpu usage, another app running and lots of cpu usage, screensaver running) ? Thanks |

Dirk,
----------------------------------------Any keyboard and mouse action will make the "when in use" memory setting kick in. I've no idea what the time delay factor is before the "when idle" memory setting takes effect. Presume it's based on when the OS determines if the system is 'idle'.... let me check if there is verbiage in the wiki on that. [Edit: Well the wiki does not say: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/PrefsReference just "Limits the amount of RAM used by BOINC applications when your computer is not in use. "
