Chose the "Service" option when installing, and BOINC will run no matter which user is logged on.
You can also move the BOINC Manager shortcut in the Start menu from one user to another, if you need to. |

Would a single user install with the shortcut in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder not be optimal for automatic starting, if service is not an option or wishes to see the graphics? Downside is, each time a user logs out, BOINC is interrupted, so I've switched to service on all the clients. Even with a spontaneous boot or a boot while not there because Bill Gates updated Windows in absence, will cause BOINC to just start again for no one to interfere in.

There is another option - if you have plenty of Memory - enable Windows "Fast User Switching". Boinc is then started by your main user, and you do not log off, but switch to another user. The main users programs, including Boinc, carry on running and the 2nd user logs on. This is the way I run, and I have had no problems - Boinc carries on as normal and even uploads and downloads work.

Yes, use that to do admin tasks, and indeed plenty mem is a plus as it loads up many a duplicate process and app.
