So sad to hear about your dad, teammate. It's such a difficult thing to go through, but I know your dad is appreciative that you are nearby. My wish is that your pain is tempered by the knowledge that you helped him on his journey, and that he has peace. I'll light a candle for him tonight. rose

Dear Gromit,
Sad news strikes us all, and we can remember our own experiences, sharing yours too. We would be with you if we could but at least our thoughts are. What are friends for? A sorrow shared is a sorrow halved,

Harold rose

As I, Grommet sad

I lost my father when I was 12 from cancer. I am 51 now and there is not a day that passes that I don’t miss him or remember him in some way.

rose May strength be your ally through these dark times. rose

(But if it fails you, I am sure that I could find a few thousand shoulders to cry on around here. Well, you were grid.org'd prized pup. What do you expect!)

I am very sorry to hear this terrible news, Dick_Dastardly.

There are of course no words that can begin , there never have , there never will .

My sincere condolences.

Re: Dad's last days

Thanks, everyone.

They called the family to dad's side last night at around midnight, saying that he would probably be gone before some of us made it to the hospice. We all got there and the pastor from dad's church came too. He's still hanging in there though. Not much sleep and I had to come to work. I hope to see him again this afternoon after work.

If I don't post again for some time, please forgive me. My attention will be directed at helping mom with whatever she needs through this.
