Any ideas of why it is taking this one over 46 hours and only 16% done? Is there something I need to do or is this normal?

Any ideas of why it is taking this one over 46 hours and only 16% done? Is there something I need to do or is this normal? Hi PRNRN91 This is quite normal so be patient and hang in there It will probably take 280 hours to complete You are generating 28.3 points per hour so you should get in excess of 8000 points for this one However if it is non convergent meaning it wont fold then it will abort and send you a new one You will however get credit for the partial completion I hope this helps Regards Graham |

I just had a work unit take 153 hours to finish last week. I thought the thing would never finish. However, I did receive over 2,300 points for it. You will just get a huge boost after it finishes. It is kind of neat because it looks like you did all the work in one day.

PRNRN91,
As my team mate Graham stated 280 hour and 8K point is not that bad I should say... .. to be honnest I would love to have such a WU on one of my faster machines... I had a 336 Hrs and 1 second ( maximum allowed ) WU once on one of the slower machines , no result but 7600 points for the incomplete job.. needed just another 48 hours to complete.. So just hang in, crunch 24/7, smoke the Cpu and end up with a jump in a day or 10 on the score board |

Thank you all for your response's. That one did finally go in, but I thought of something else. I exited my seti project and it seemed to about double the speed. I know seti uses a lot of cpu resources but I might be the one to fine ET!!
I put seti back and in 1.5 hours I have done 11% on this one. I don't think it totally bogs it down but is having an effect. I have 384 mb of available RAM, and when taxes come back I am upgrading that for sure...might help! BTW, the 46 hour one took about another 10 hours and I did get a bigger boost in points. |
