Hello,
I am receiving following error on HPF2. Any idea what the problem could be? <core_client_version>5.10.30</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <message> Unzulässige Funktion. ----------------------------------------Do you know the approximate circumstance that this happened. Did you try to watch the graphics e.g?

No, nothing at all, no hint. I usually have the graphics off and don't have the screen saver installed.
It just happens on my laptop I use at work. The WUs process just fine at home. No overclocking, and no other "improvements" I am aware of. African climate does not download, all other WCG projects seem to work fine. I suspected the VPN to cause problems, but I could not discover a significant correlation whit this error 1. It just happens. Usually early in the process. Do you know what exactly fails on line 401 at: .\dock_structure.cc? |

Have visited MS support yesterday for the exit code 1 (0x1) and it went on about DLL's not being loaded. On another project (not WCG) where this was reported the same finding.
----------------------------------------Line 401 \..... not seen before. Is this frequent and only with HPF2? In case you run this exclusively, suggest a trial period and switch to for instance DDDT or HCC and see if things are stable. Do boot the computer once in a while and run a Windows Repair in case a somee lib got lost or corrupted. And, if you have some setting to unload libraries if not used for a while, disable that.... any memory optimisation managers running maybe? (from the wild guess department) bis später

Hm... I'll try a Windows Repair tonight... who knows...
It would surely be a great help to know which DLL is reporting the illegal function on line 401 ;-) I am running Symantec Antivirus. No idea, what that scanner is doing besides safeguarding the computer. Otherwise no optimisation software that I can see. Copernic Desktop Search is also running. There are rumors, that Copernic is a bit ... pushy... Haven't had any problems yet (besides maybe this one). Since I noticed that HPF2 does not run well I have tried the other WCG projects. DDDT HCC FAAH seem to run well. African climate does not download. I'll keep watching. Maybe a pattern emerges. Bis dann :-) |

I have just started a new HPF2 task. So far it is running...
But: I received following message: 05.03.2008 10:09:41|World Community Grid|Starting task lp263_00007_11 using hpf2 version 518 Could it be possible that version 518 was an old version? If so, how would I update? |

Not likely, but who knows.... does you log show downloads other than work unit parts. New science software for HPF2 is 10mb or more?
----------------------------------------No, the version is the same as before , 5.18 (on windows). New science versions update automatically with a first work unit needing it, or as in the DDDT case a new version send even before the new batch went in circulation (backward compatible).
