We had to put down our 6 year old bunny yesterday because she had advanced ovarian cancer. I wonder if we'll ever get to the point of looking for cures for pet diseases?That may be not be possible yet. EG, Dog Food from Purina actually caused some dogs to get Diabetes because of the grains and such. Now, you see what has changed for the good. Nearly all pet food companies scurried to take out the junk ther were loading their bags. THe one that did it first are the choice for consumers. Money doesnt talk, it roars! Dogs are not grain eaters; Cows that eat corn by products also is not a good thing because they eat grass (healthy prairie grass). Thank (name of company blocked) for that one. And so it goes. Maybe a revision of what constitutes healthy food needs to be expanded. With that in mind, life could (and there is proof) that people are living longer because they eat better and exercise more. Hi Perelandra. Sympathies from here for your pet rabbit. Have had 3 dogs over the years which succumbed to cancer here :-( mostly when they were old. Hopefully more research will be done on this over time. Sympathies from here. What CR posted. Pets are almost like children; I remember a Cockatiel my parents had before ot died at the Vet's office. Harry has breathing problems and I drove it to the Vet's office in blizzard like conditions and my sister held it in a blanket. Oh man .....
