Yes, numbers are going up. Also starting today I am stopping work on POEM@HOME since that project is closing. I only had 2 cores and a GPU dedicated to it but that will give me a little more for WCG.

Howzit Team!! Sorry about lack of posts! Still able to crunch, if not post! 8-) Hey we all need a little time off once in a while! That's the beauty of crunching though, it still goes on even when we "check out". So looking at my numbers 3 days after I added several cores and switched project settings, I am getting 15% more CPU time but 70% more points. Yeah! |

Perelandra, I've seen your stats increasing. Wow. Have you taken Zika to your mix? That would explain the increase. I've been running Zika, Ebola, FAH2 and TB for a while, but recently removed FAH2. I've got 16 years on FAH2 and would like to get to 20 so may add it back in again someday. But I am enjoying the monthly challenges so I like the points! |

Swapping to Open Zika has highlighted one thing that i've noticed over the last few days and thats that it performs much better under Ubuntu than windows.
I have 2 i7 3930 setups, one runs Ubuntu and is at stock speed of 3.8Ghz turbo, the other runs windows 7 professional and is running at 4.4Ghz turbo, the ubuntu macine is outperforming the windows one by a good 15-20% most days, granted the windows pc does do other things but it's clocked a fair bit higher and has lots more memory - 32Gb as opposed to just 4. The bizarre thing is that when I was exclusively crunching MCM units, the windows machine was by far the highest performing so for whatever reason (I wouldn't even try and hypothesise why) different projects seem to suit different setups. It's interesting to note however that the i7 6700k systems slay both of the 3930's, they seem to rip through open zika units at lightning speed, even with 2 cores 4 threads less they still pump out more processing every day so if anyone is looking for new gear on a price/performance basis, i7 6700k every time. Of course what this has got me thinking is - if the 6700k is so much faster than my older 6cores I wonder what the 6950k is like with 10cores/20 threads  |
