So it's hard to decide what is the right frequency to mention those milestones. Speaking for myself and my stats: My next big milestones will be 100 years of runtime, 100,000,000 wcg points and 250,000 results returnded. Finally it's awesome that you spend the time to provide us all these informations. I really appreciate it.  Yes, not easy to decide, because all these stats are awesome. I mean, just look below. What kind of android systems are you crunching on eric? Two years ago I started with a minix q7 that is a kind of android media box for TV. It runs android 4.2 (I think) and has a quad-core arm inside. A few weeks later I stumbled upon an article about hardkernel odroid devices that can run either android or linux. I've imported an odroid u3 with a quad-core arm cpu and installed android 4.4 on it. A few days later I've had the opportunity to buy another one from a team mate. This year hardkernel came up with the odroid xu3 and xu3 lite. Both have a eight-core arm in Big-Little architecture that means that 4 cores are running on a higher clock speed and 4 cores on a lower clock speed. The actual successor is now the odroid xu4 which has the same architecture and is comparable cheap. In Germany they are sold for 80€. All you need is a cheap microSD card and a power supply for a few bucks and you are ready to go. In my opinion the performance is comparable good specially if you consider the power consumption. The odroids need 5 to 10 watt. The oet wu runtime varies from 30 minutes up to 14 hours. All of my androids have in common that they run with a power supply. In total I have two odroid u3, two odroid xu3 lite and one minix q7. The cores sum up to 28. The decision for android was made because I wanted to use them for wcg. Running linux on the is not supported by wcg. Hopefully after oet there will be other applications in wcg that support android... If you have any question feel free to ask anytime :) |
