congrtz WildWilber on turning 50, you really don't look your age hey JC, what types of back workouts do you do? remember to eat enough protein in your diet if you do a lot of strength training anhhai, more than just back workouts. However, my workouts start with 5-6 'warming up/stretching sessions that basically 'opens up my back' by about 30%. Extremely important for my lumbar (back). These are where I lay down on a work mat with one of my sweatshirts 'rolled up' to give my neck/head some support. Like just a simple: Lay down flat on you back. Bring up one leg and place it 'normally' where the foot is level to the mat Cross that leg over the other leg (which is lying down) and while keeping you back and arms straight, 'roll over' until you feel the burn of you back. Keep that position for at least 30 seconds and then do another one like that with the other leg. Basically, to make your lumbar stronger, you must strengthen your abs because that is of course opposite of your back. I also work on doing bench presses on the Smith Machine working on major muscle groups (upper body- shoulders, chest, arms, etc) as well as working on hamstrings, glutes, quadriceps, etc on another machine. I have known about the great importance of protein for a long time due to the various Team and Individual sports. And yes, when to carb up and when to carb down. Yes, another day at the gym tomorrow (Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays). The trainer is trying his best to 'break' me down with more exercises and weights again. Oh well. LOL!
----------------------------------------He does make it fun with some martial arts mixed in to make me relax (for a few minutes) that I have not ever taken like kendo and kung fu. It's all good.
