On the right side of the top banner, each member's "Current ranking" is given as a number (mine is 2,979). However, without more information this number is basically meaningless. This part of the banner should be revised, along the lines of: "Current ranking: 2,979 of 123,456"

I agree. Also, adding percentile information somewhere in the stats would be interesting and not to difficult to implement.

No opinion as I only look forward to get to the top 1,000
----------------------------------------![]() Think I saw these features over at BOINCstats. At standard BOINC projects one only gets Credit and RAC, no ranking. And for Run Time and Results most all DC projects are clueless. Maybe, the forthcoming forum software upgrade will put that information in the 'badge' area. Don't know, but if the web developers read this, they'll add it to the wish list and shuffle the priorities again in terms of easy and quick, needed and difficult, doable but time consuming, nice but etc.

But of course ;) My suggestion was merely to add, beneath the current "Accumulated Points" and "Current Ranking," a "Rank %" or something of that nature, which would simply be one's ranking/the overall number of WCG members.
----------------------------------------Although my web/database skills are limited at best, I would guess that this update wouldn't be too hard to implement. The only question I suppose is whether or not one's rank should be divided by overall members (easier) or active members (a bit harder/fuzzier). I'm for this update mainly because it provides a relative measure rather than absolute one, and would just be more convenient that running the calcs oneself. BOINC stats is certainly wonderful, but why not copy some of their stats and move 'em here? Anyways, just a thought. Btw, i'm totally with ya Sekarob on passing the 1,000 mark! - although I have a bit to go. I'll soon be passing the 3,000 level :p) take care ![]() |
