I have no proxy settings, my other 5 machines running at the same switch and at the same DSL-Router and the installation and working of WCG agent was no problem. To minimize / maximize the agent brings the same result, connecting....loading about 2422 byte ...of 2422 byte (or other , but always below 10kB)....and then pausing again.
I deaktivated NortonAV and ZoneLabs and tried again, same result... Now I will try a new installation of W2000 and in the next step a upgrade to Pentium 200MHz....all other machines are P200 or higher... Could it be, that there is a cpu checker who says "Pentium 166 ?? - Too weak for me" WBR Peter |

And I think it is a problem especcially with this machine and not a network or server problem because the rest of my machines doesn't see a paused agend (the time I look at the monitor...) and working quite well. ( 2MB down, 128k up DSL).

I have to agree with you. Somehow this problem is specific to that particular computer. But I do not know how!!
Sorry, Lawrence |

So, a naked fresh Windows2000 is on the system and the same reaction occurs. Now I think it is the hardware... let me change the cpu to 200 MHz and we will see more... but this takes some days, I've just ordered a cpu over eBay for 4 Euro (!), I sold for my first 133MHz Pentium about 400 DM ...time goes by...

Hello marysduby,
it is a static problem with this machine, the others are working well, but this Pentium 166 shows this problem in any circumstances, I've tried all things, but the first download ends with agent paused.... ...let me have a look to this machine when I upgraded it to Pentium 200... WBR Peter |

Hello to all,
now I have installed the Pentium 200 MMX (and also needed a new mainboard....) and now the grid client works well like the other I had installed. So I postulate here, the minimum processor power is a Pentium 200, even this is not specified in the requirements. Can I have same votes or is there anyone who can report other expirience with processors lower than a Pentium 200? Sorry for the long delay, but changing a system is often not the only one you've planned, the next change will come shurly :-D Best regards Peter |

There is, in fact, a 200mhz CPU speed minimum. We should have included this on our System Requirements page and will do so at our next update. Sorry.
