improving communication
would it be possible to add a widget showing the state of fulfillement of each projects? It would encourage the users to try and attain the goals and not simply "running the program on the computer"

Not really practical. Similar things have been suggested - but for many projects here, the endpoint is a moving target, subject to renegotiation if the scientists find an interesting line of research or acquire new data. This makes it very difficult to describe the state of a project with a single figure.
