Hello, I entered a contest in the World Community Grid. The contest name is " One computer vs... " The second day that the contest began, there were a few members with unbelievable points. Makes me wonder if they really entered with just one computer. I would like World Community Grid to monitor contests to ensure that they are fair with the participants. Example, if a person starts a contest of One Computer, or a One Member etc... those who qualify only enter such contests. Regardless, I will still volunteer my computer to build a better world.

Those are just names. Sadly, there is no way to limit entry to challenges based on such criteria.
My advice is to create closed challenges if you want to limit entry to a challenge. With open challenges, there will always be a few people who join all the challenges without paying any attention to the name of the challenge. Sorry, there is no way WCG can devote resources to monitoring contests in the way you suggest. It just can't be done. It would be very difficult to provide a technical solution, too, so while WCG plan on adding more features to the challenges in the future, "one computer" and similar are unlikely to be possible. |

I think I heard something about how this could be solved, without overhead to the WCG admin’s. No tools to make and no waiting for response from an already overworked team.
----------------------------------------It was called….. ah….. let me think…… I’ll get it……. Oh yea. It was called: with a thread that would have something to do with this: ___ and the strange idea of a ”human drama in cybernetic competition.” God D, that person must be a raving lunatic. If I find that person, I will make sure to point her out. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
