hi,
I don't normally read the messages in the Boinc manager but noticed "A new version of BOINC (5.10.30) is available for your computer. visit http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php to get it." Am I supposed to go to that web site and download it and install it? I thought that the World Community Grid would automatically download and install all necessary software. What would have happened if I had not noticed this message or decide not to install the new version of BOINC? What is new in the new version? |

Hi ann_on,
----------------------------------------BOINC client does not yet automatically update. The sciences do though. There is no must at all to upgrade long as things work fine. I'm a bit surprised. Can you copy/paste that as that version has been out a few months and is actually imminently going to be upgraded to 5.10.4x. What version are you running momentarily? ttyl

Thanks for letting me know. Things are running fine. So I'll wait a while and get the 5.10.4x version. What is weird is that the message about the new version does not show up today. BOINC doesn't check for a new version every day. I forget what the interval is.
