You know the thing that hacks me off the worst about this software? It is the fact that when you request "Recent Threads in all Forums" you get the list of threads with the very first post in that thread showing! This post is sometimes years old and you eventually get sick of seeing this same old post.
Most decent Forums show yyou the LAST post in the thread so you have some idea whether to visit the thread or not. In this one you have no idea what the post is.....it may be just a simple 'bump'....let's have a decent forum here....change the software.....please! ![]() |

I would agree the search function isn't very useful and I don't like using it, but then we get scolded for not using it!
An 'advanced search' function is definately needed. Eg..being able to search through specific dates supporting AND/OR functions..just about what you'd find using something like an advanced Google search or the type of search you'd find for a University level research through EBSCO or something. with all of the words, with the exact phrase, with at least one of the words, without the words, between dates such and such..etc It's not a really hard or long programming feat I don't think...although I could be mistaken? I thought of this years ago when I first joined, but I wasn't going to bring it up... |

Sorry, I misread what the first post was about. But, I still think the search function is mostly useless..

We tried to make a list of all the bugs, once. We ran out of numbers.
The reason you haven't heard much on the subject recently is because the work has actually been scheduled, and now we just need to wait. |

.... I can't remember.
Let me look it up..... Well, that's interesting. Actually, our information on this is a little out of date now. Sorry, I'm not allowed to share. |

What language? Please tell me what is wrong with prock or teaser? Neither word is offensive!

I saw somebody get thrown out of a minor league baseball game for saying BALDERDASH! The umpire didn't understand it, but it was the WAY he said it.
----------------------------------------Prock is even a family name, or British short slang for procrastinate. Teaser seems plain enough. IBM wasn't sure, so it got Tedified. There ARE two searches ... the simple one with the white box, and a more advanced search in the middle of the gray/grey bar. That one is often overlooked.
