Graham;
Actually I would N-E-V-E-R be so direct. - I may think it but N-E-V-E-R woof it. After all there is one thing I like better than BEER and it is "Salmon" My ears would fall off before I would endanger my portion of Salmon - Paws knows which side of the bread has the butter (fish) on it. Paws like any male, goes woof woof when all needs are fulfilled and whimper, whimper when they are not.

Hairy4Paws Sentiments

Cognac is a strong spirit enjoyed by few. Wine is of grapes. Here is to one of God’s great gifts. The fermentation of all thing of starch or sugar.

For those that choose a different fermentation product.

Re: Hairy4Paws Sentiments

WHAT IS "MODERATE" BEER CONSUMPTION?
"One beer is better than no beer. Two beers are better than one beer. But four beers are not twice as good as two beers." (Professor Dr. Anton Piendl, Institute for Brewery Technology and Microbiology at Technical University Munich-Wheihenstephan).
Professor Dr. Hans Hoffmeister of Free University of Berlin and Director of the Robert-Koch-Institute in Berlin, explained that moderate consumption of alcohol is 4 to 40 grams per day which corresponds to 0.1 to 1 liter of beer.
Professor Dr. Anton Piendl of the Technical University of Munich-Weihenstephan recommends drinking a half liter (one pint) of beer in the evening or before going to bed.

In the recent few years, official circles in the United States and the United Kingdom have changed their attitude towards alcohol consumption from "less is better".
The British Government recently set up an inter-departmental committee to evaluate all available studies on the alcohol consumption on human health. It gave the following recommendations at the end of the evaluation:

1. One to two drinks per day are beneficial
2. Up to three or four drinks daily is harmless
3. More than three-four drinks daily is risky

... I prefer the Brits version ... Just one question though. What is a drink? ==> sip?glass?barrel?container;a whole fermentation keg?... wink

Re: Belgium Has Nr 1 Beer

a0a --

Thanks -- very interesting list. I checked out Westvleteren Abt 12. It is brewed in a monestary in Flanders, Belgium. They have a web site at The abbay of Saint Sixtus of Westvleteren where they even list a Beer Phone!

hmmm.......
what is a beer phone?
a) you call them and they deliver
b) you call the number and you fill your mug up using the handset
c) you lift up the handset, dial the number, stick straws into the ear piece and drink beer online
d) you dial the number, open you fridge - BINGO - it is full of beer

am I on the right track here? biggrin
