BOINC Elapsed Time

Hello, I've just switched today from UD to BOINC, everything is working ok except this:

The Elapsed time clock counts rather slower than real time, it counts 40 minutes each 3 hours or so. Is this ok ? is it supposed to happen ?

Thank you !

Re: BOINC Elapsed Time

That is CPU time, not clock time. Put another way, that is the amount of time that it would have taken if your CPU ran nothing but BOINC, at 100%.

Your figure is rather low, so it is worth checking that BOINC is running optimally. Open Task Manager, and see if any process is taking a lot of CPU time away from World Community Grid.

Re: BOINC Elapsed Time

Using the preset profile "Minimum Impact", with 60% CPU permission and only crunching when computer is idle does not strike as irregular i.e. 40 CPU minutes out of 3 wall-clock hours. Try switching to Standard Profile or Maximum Performance to increase and see if you experience impairment when using computer.

Re: BOINC Elapsed Time

Hy, i've tried what Didactylos suggested, and it working rather odd, CPU usage goes from 1% to 100% back and forth every second the processes are alternating between WCG and idle, I don't understand why my machine is working like this... Why boinc cant work stable on 60% or whatever usage i set for it ??

Re: BOINC Elapsed Time

That's the way it works. Set it to 100% if you want to get more done.
