BOINC seems to determine on its own how many tasks to download once the current task is approaching its completion. Is there a way to configure it so that it downloads several tasks at once? The purpose is to put these tasks on another PC that does not have internet connection and cannot get the new tasks once it completes the job.

Depends on which tasks and how many days you put to contact the servers....for example I have something like 20 DDT queued to run on this machine....

Thanks, Scribe. Could you please elaborate because I am not sure which settings you are referring to.

Thanks. In the meantime I found the 'Additional Work Buffer' setting, increased it to 3 as well and got one extra job. I'll play with both settings to get the optimal result.

....remember that 'things' do not happen immediately....it takes time Yes, the server will watch how your client reacts and will send more and more WUs along with receiving your results. That may take several days before your queue reaches its maximum. Cheers. Jean. |
