I am now looking at SpywareSecure, Microsoft Security at home and Windows Live OneCare. Do I need all/any of these?

No From the Microsoft web-site This tool checks your computer for infection by specific, prevalent malicious software (including Blaster, Sasser, and Mydoom) and helps to remove the infection if it is found. Microsoft will release an updated version of this tool on the second Tuesday of each month. |

I am now looking at SpywareSecure, Microsoft Security at home and Windows Live OneCare. Do I need all/any of these? maybe not all of those. I've not had any experience with any of them, I use Windows Firewall AVG free anti-virus, and Lavasoft Ad-aware. You only need to run 1 anti virus program, and 1 firewall AVG http://free.avg.com/ Ad aware http://www.lavasoft.com/ Also you can get a free on-line virus scan from Trend http://housecall.trendmicro.com/uk/ [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Dec 18, 2008 9:07:35 PM] |

In my experience there is less likelihood of a "free" utility than of a free lunch. What this usually means is:

If my MacAfee E.O.M. program (delivered with my Dell) had found any infection, it would have dealt with it. Instead it reported "no infection found."
