Re: THE EDWARDIANS - CRUNCH ON

Good morning everyone, seems a bit overcast today, but a lot better off than the poor people who live in Somerset - those floods must have been horrendous.
All dressed up and no-where to go eh Peter? cool Cool wink

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - CRUNCH ON

Fred Astaire AKA Traveller UK rote

Well, I was supposed to go dancing tonight. Got all dressed and dance shoes at the ready and headed out, but unfortunately when I got to the usual place discovered there had been a change of venue sad That'll teach me to pay more attention. biggrin

I believe the current Government policy is to bear down on theses raves..........
I think you have to listen to some shortwave Pirate station or meet in a service station on the M25..
***************
On this home front
The Good guys from British gas finished at lunch time yesterday.
All working and new system explained
Staffing was two chaps from Bolton each day And final day a couple of 'Leccys also from Bo'ton ..
They were very user friendly kept us in touch explained what was going on step by step The debris has just been removed 08.00am
Contrast the Survey Guy from merseyside who wrote the action plan for the installers, which after he had gone we found not to our wishes
The man with the spanners sorted it smile

************************
Hope you find a new Mans Best Friend Harold.
I have had a MBF since childhood
The first ,a real mongrel named Nipper because of his likeness to the HMV dog peering into the Gramophone Horn I did have another Nipper at a Later date .....

I do remember a lot of the dogs of my childhood named Monty and Winnie
Current names range in the sort of text speak realm
Deefer =D for Dog
Beefer =B for Boxer and so on

**************
Our names did I hope have some connection with events at birth or character of animal some times a bit obtuse
'fer instance
"Princess" who was a bearded Collie X looked a bit like the dulux dog but not quite , hence not the queen but maybe the Princess

Her Daughter in similar vein , "Marge" not the real thing but as in
" I Cant believe its not Butter "

The grandaughter was Named "Ishi"
Ishi was an Indian who was last of some north American tribe

So Ishi it was

However our current MBF is Pate yes the meat product
just because his Mother in final stages of pregnancy would only eat Pate
Mrs Snaps suggested a pup should be named Pate
she had already said we would not be having another dog

BUT small cute cuddly dog won her heart and he has been with us for nine years
He is a small dog a Yorkshire terrier/ Shztuz X I leave it to you to name the resulting breed biggrin
He does in fact belive he is a Human Feline cross
his best mate next to me is a Cat.... cool

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - CRUNCH ON

They say that outside of a dog, a book is a mans best friend.
However inside of a dog it's too dark to read! biggrin

Re: THE EDWARDIANS - CRUNCH ON

Evening all

Pretty dull and threatening all day but got the big shop in without rain and now the sun is shining.

My remarks of a couple of days ago concerning my weekly full back up - I was extremely grateful this week.
Having done it on Thursday evening as usual, I then went to nVidia to check if my graphics driver was up-to-date. It was but they also searched for my motherboard drivers which are also nVidia and told me that they should be upgraded.

So I downloaded as instructed and the whole system then went pear shaped and I couldn't even get my router to work to get back on the net. Fortunately, the old modem got me on to the snail rate for the necessaries before, today, I finally properly reloaded the back up and am again working as before. Without that, I think it would have been a full reinstall of Windows as I don't much trust the 'repair' option.

I should have relied on the old maxim: if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it.

Can't remember the last time I went dancing!
