i know it's hard to figure but i would appreciate an estimate.
the 30-day guide seems reasonable. |

Maybe Sekerob keeps statistics that could help you, but I doubt it. I just look at http://vspx27.stanford.edu/DCcomparison.html

Last updated today? I think that is what we commonly call a "lie".
It's just propaganda for Folding@Home, and is one of the reasons I don't believe their claims. Sad, really - they used to be a really good DC project. What went wrong? |

All the numbers are wrong. Try the Google links and see....

I remember a discussion about that link a few years ago.
----------------------------------------Some projects may not be directly comparable, since each one may have different ways of calculating 24 hours worth of CPU work. Some may be counting each part-timer as a full machine. That's why the numbers are higher. For WCG, I think they split out the runtime. Add all of the hours until they get 24 hours, and call that 1 machine.

Yes, it always was a bit useless, wasn't it?
But now the data seems to be totally out of date and just plain wrong. I'm afraid we will have to get numbers from a different source. |

I'm afraid we will have to get numbers from a different source. What's source for the goose is object for the gander.

http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=osstats
Criteria seems clearly defined to me. Didactylos, dumping on another project and making unsubstantiated claims is hardly good WCG promotion technique. Anyway, stats aren't a barometer of a projects merit....rather a barometer of it's popularity. I run a project now with only 1500 participants.....does that demerit the project? Or should I quit now cos you will find a stats discrepancy there? ![]() |
