sad Is there a problem return result to my grid?

My machine is on 24 x 7 and the BOINC agent runs for most of that time. Although I see statistics updated regularly it's been more than 10 days, eg( Last Result Returned (UTC) 12/31/2007 11:03:11 [243+ hour(s) ago] ) since any results were returned?
Don't know if the issue is in my agent or not?

Re: Is there a problem return result to my grid?

Have you visited the My Grid > Result Status page to see if any work was assigned to your client under the member name 'dchester'? If you look on your computer in the BOINCmgr clients 'Project' tab (advanced view), you can see you under what name you are processing work.

cheers

Note to CIH/TKH: Please move this thread to BOINC support forum.

Sekerob, Thanks for the hint Results status shows several projects assigned to my id. eg:

You'll notice however, Results were sent on Dec. 30 and 31 on the two I've highlighted, due on Jan 8th and 9th yet status is "No Reply". Actually no results on anything since 12/31 hypnotized

P.S. Not sure how to "move" a thread as you suggested.

Re: Is there a problem return result to my grid?

No reply is a bad omen. So, was there newer work assigned since then and what dates? Can you copy paste the main Result Status page list.

As to my former question, did you look in your BOINC client under what member name your device sends work to WCG? Also, is the work you see on the website still listed in the Tasks tab of your BOINC client?

Is there anything suspicious being reported in the Message tab? Can you copy paste a section of those messages.

Re: Is there a problem return result to my grid?

Looked in the BOINC Client Projects tab. and appears work is sent under the correct "dchester" ID. eg:
Project = World Community Grid, Account = dchester
and both applications are still listed on the task tab.

Now that you mention it yes there're a few "suspicious messages" eg:
01/08/08 06:49:15 AM|World Community Grid|Task X0000050090439200505260849_1 is 0.13 days overdue.
01/08/08 06:49:15 AM|World Community Grid|You may not get credit for it. Consider aborting it.

01/09/08 04:01:21 AM|World Community Grid|Sending scheduler request: Requested by project
01/09/08 04:01:21 AM|World Community Grid|(not requesting new work or reporting completed tasks)

BTW...appreciate your response...

Re: Is there a problem return result to my grid?

The whole picture is suspicious hinting at either work running very slow or being restarted from the beginning at least never finishing. Please follow the next steps exactly:

1. What percentage of progress is reported in the Tasks tab for these 'No Reply' jobs?

2. Check the BOINC 'Activity' menu and make sure the 'Run always' is selected. Was that selected?

3. Hit ctrl-shift-esc keys to open the Task Manager and find processes that start with 'wcg_'. Are they using CPU time and what is the CPU usage % indicator.

4. In BOINC, Select the jobs that are late in the 'Tasks' tab and hit 'Abort' in the left margin. I dont think you will get credit even if the client manages to finish them in the next few hours.

5. Go to the Projects tab, select WCG and hit the 'Update' button. That should send the aborted results back and generate more feedback.

6. Return to the Message tab, wait 30 minutes and copy / paste all messages from when hitting the Update button and post them here.
