The "team captain" status on WCG is quite retarded. On WCG anyone can be a team captain and start a new team, totally ignoring other team members and minding for shes or his business only. So if you're a newcomer on WCG, and you join a team just to be closer to the grid or for any other reason, you can crunch as heck and finish several hundreds of results. Later as you become advanced user you find out that your team captain has not only blocked email but placed your team on international list and not your own countris. I have brought all my close friends and family to the team and then i see this.
---------------------------------------- Oh common!!!!I think team captains should be available to contact and it should be possible to challenge them for the team captain status. I will not change teams because i have thrown too much money into this and so have my recruits. I have recruited more than 50% of the team. Can anyone help me??  vido a.k.a. It happens quite frequently that team captains abandon their team.
Not to worry though - all you need to do is send an email to support@worldcommunitygrid.org and they will attempt to contact the captain for you. If he's not reachable, then you will be able to choose a new captain. Blocked email and International are the defaults - your captain probably vanished before these options were added. What team is it? |

It's IBM - Slovenia . Mojca is the team captain. She's not using boinc either. Oh yeah and one more thing. Approx. every 2 weeks she completes one computation. I myself on the other hand try compute as much as i can and recruit as many friends as i can. Some people would call me a bit crazy when i have lost previous job while crunching there. I even told the boss that i would do it again if i could. And there you see, that is the whole story(almost

I will be IBM - Slovenia team member as long as I own a computer with internet. I'm a tech enthusiast(i hope I spelled correctly
) by the way. In the next few months i'm seriously considering of buying a quad core proccesor(Intels Core 2 quad probably) as my little bro did a few days ago. Check Joco@boinc. peace!  |

So I did get email from WCG and have now enabled "team email" function.
To clarify, I'm sorry, but I have not abandoned my team. I just have not realized until now that there is another agent (ie. this BOINC agent) and another stats and that people who are possibly not from IBM Slovenia would join this team... Now I've registered there and switched to that agent.. but I can not seem to be able to set my user and my team correctly there .. user doesn't exist, project is not responding, my points have not been transfered from WCG, the team members are only listed 9 - and not all 12 as per WCG pages, etc. etc. On BOINC Account Manager (BAM) http://boincstats.com/bam/teams.php - it doesn't show my team name there ("IBM - Slovenia") only the number .. And perhaps the problem is the name (having - character) ... Will try to give it a day or two (or check back to this thread for help!). uuuhhh. Boinc Account Manager/BAM may not work here until the old UD version goes away completely and it is implemented. BOINC implementation is running, but the code is slightly different than the standard BOINCs you see elsewhere. You may have to check your device manager and profiles here in the "My Grid" section, in addition to BAM.
