I have two computers running BOINC. Both of them had the program installed individually, but are logged into the same account. I saw under help the following question and answer:
I replicated an install to several machines across a network and now my points are not incrementing properly. What is wrong? This is not a supported configuration. We recommend that each machine is logged into individually. If you have already completed this process and need a fix, you must go to each machine (other than the initial machine) and reinstall on each device individually. Does this mean that there is a risk that the work units won't be counted properly because both computers are on the same account? Or does it mean that this is only a problem when all of them have the exact same installation used to copy the program onto all of the computers at once? Thank you. |

That could be another issue.
----------------------------------------You can have as many computers (devices) connected to the same membername as you want. I have 4 here. To avoid remembering a lot of different membernames this is actually preferable. New Members: when registering a new additional device, note that you are already a member.

starwarsluke1, that help question refers only to the UD software. It doesn't apply to BOINC.
BOINC handles cloned installations without missing a beat. |
