Dave Shaw,
Dialup is just as good as broadband for the Human Proteome Folding Project. Most work units are between half and one megabyte. But after you download it, the program runs for hours before it returns the results (in highly compressed form) and downloads another work unit. So you lose several minutes a day compared with someone on broadband. You probably save enough money each year to pay for a new computer. Keep on Crunching, Lawrence |
