Re: Unable to access member page

Well it must have been very very brief as I just logged in on the MG page and came here to tell you. Sometimes it takes a later try and clearing the cookie store never harms.

Oh and read the Known Issues news. The techs are working on the website and tonight parts for UD agent will be going off-line for a while.

sad Re: Unable to access member page

I just got this answer:
Message

The page you requested is currently unavailable because the statistics are being updated.

The statistics update will finish in about 53:07 minutes.

I didn't want to go to stats, just to my account management pages, like what project to participate, what resource share to use etc.
Strange thing is further, it has changed from "will finish in about 00:52 minutes" to this 53:07 minutes in about 3 minutes time. I'd expect the timeline to go down, not up.
This unnecessary meddling of the stats in my account pages seems to be getting more recently, has anything changed?

Re: Unable to access member page

Please Read Start Here forum Scheduling post (link in my sig).

I read it, but still fail to see why account management pages are tied to stats, that's two entirely different venues.

I hope it's already in the pipeline to get this unconnected venues behave unconnected as well.

Another thing I fail to see is why the estimated time is so badly calculated and switches from 50 seconds to 55 minutes in 1 minute, it was definitely completely clear at the time the 50 second estimate was given, that that was a fake and it would take another hour. I'd expect such weird estimates with new projects, that still collect data about such estimates, but WCG is a long-standing one, it knows for sure how long this really takes.

Why do I flog a dead horse?

Do I get it, that this is already worked upon by the project team and I only have to wait some more days/weeks?

Or is this nonsensical behaviour considered OK by some higher-ups and I waste my time in trying to show them this faults?

Re: Unable to access member page

Hello Saenger,
I read it, but still fail to see why account management pages are tied to stats, that's two entirely different venues.

The server with the database is connected to everything. It is even connected to the Forum, which is why the log-on is slightly different when the database is being maintained. Since I don't know how it is organized, I cannot comment on whether this is good design or poor design.

But I do feel sure that we will not make a major change in the basic database design unless circumstances force us to do so.
