Thread: Device Profiles Not Updating |

I have gone through the Device Manager to update my Device Profiles (I have 3), add the Cancer and African Climate Projects, and click on "SAVE". (The space is set at 1GB as required.) The screen returns with the following confirmation: "Your profile has been successfully updated. "
Then when I go back to the Device Profile to verify these changes, it does not show that these projects have been added. What's wrong? Thanks, Howard  |

Are you trying to change a UD profile?
BOINC has separate profiles. |

Hi Didactylos. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "BOINC has separate profiles". I simply wanted to add the Cancer and African Climate projects to my existing profiles; are you saying you can't add it to existing profiles?

If you are trying to add them to a UD profile they will not add as UD does not do those projects....

OK, I think I follow somewhat. Now after adding the BOINC profile, how do i get the computers to go to these, since they are tied to the UD device profiles? I did select the projects under "My Projects", but the UD profiles do not have the same name as the BOINC (Work, Home); do I need to rename them?

BOINC devices can't use UD device profiles. If you see the UD device profile names, then you are looking at your old UD devices.
When you installed BOINC each installation will show up as a new device. You will see these marked with the BOINC logo in the device manager list: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/viewDevices.do So, ignore the old devices. After a while, they will be hidden and won't show up on the list any more. Make sure the BOINC devices are using the correct profile (click on the device name to change the profile). |
