Re: new version not downloading new WU's

Is there still work in the task buffer and if you check the Result Status page, is the reported work good?

A user invoked 'update' (Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.) seldom fetches work. Eventually when BOINC finds its bearings it will start downloading new jobs.

2 Benchmarks within 10 minutes is strange. Did you run 1 manually?

Re: new version not downloading new WU's

Yes there is work still in buffer from before the upgrade. I just upgraded to 5.10.30 and noticed the "requesting 0 seconds of work." I had not seen this before, so I wanted to report it just in case. After posting this, I checked my other computer using Vista and 5.10.30. It has downloaded a new work unit. It did report the work in error though (reported in other post). As to the benchmarks, yes I did that. I was just curious about it. I do not know what CPU benchmarks are. I know how to use computers, but I am just learning about how they work.

Re: new version not downloading new WU's

Also, version 5.10.30 did not fix the vista problem. When I restarted my system, boinc started a new WU and reported 1 of the 2 partially completed WU's as 100% completed. Vista users will still have to shut down Boinc manually before shuting down their systems.

Thanks, Dan Town

Re: new version not downloading new WU's

Are you sure? There is a specific error code associated with the Vista shutdown problem, and it doesn't appear in any of the messages you posted.

Re: new version not downloading new WU's

Can confirm continued corruption of work and compiled a long document of fact finding. There were blocks during shutdown and found in the event logs, but not that of Vista itself.
