Re: Base Camp.......The team that isn't Good Morning Base Campers! dl1000v left Trek #29 with Team *The Survivors* as the last one - thank you very much for your generous contribution. And guess who joined Trek #31? Correct in the first attempt out of three! -dl1000v rushed home, stuffed his rucksack with thick, wool socks and quilted swim trunks - grabbed his polar tent and pictched it on the sauna porch where a little warmth seeps out from the sizzling heat. RAMMIE is in - welcome That makes us 17 - I think we never were this many before You are so GOOD! Did you ever try sauna? Well, being with our Finnish captain was the inspiration - it's wild, wild, luxury We have an icy wind today and I shivered after my bicycle trip, swimming and water gymnastics did not help - but the sauna heated me all the way to the marrow, so biking home was no problem - in fact this warmth, different from anything else, still lasts more than one hour after. This is not the last time I'll do that; having developed an unpleasant sensitivity for cold which no clothing seems to be able to battle, this may be the solution. I can give sauna my warmest recommandations, and I fully understand why the Finns have this as their national passion. RAMMIE - I always have a problem finding music for you. I want to do it so good, and nothing seems to fit exactly what I think I seek for you .... This one, however, is something that has a little of each: Finnish for our present captain, Les feuilles mortes (The Dead Leaves) - Autumn, and a melancholy mood that could easily be taken for blues (I think): Autumn Leaves in Finnish Lets take one more with all kinds of juice in it: Love Me Like a Man Crunchers who want to join us Base Campers crunching for "My Effort against Childhood Cancer" are most welcome. Some of the questions you may have regarding such a big, big step you'll find answered in our "Information For The New Camper" section in our Forum - but we take questions here as well ...
