Re: Validator Problem?

bump for knreed:

Kevin,

Any chance of flipping the switch on work that continues to build in Pending Validation status, with quorum complete? Day 5 on this one.

faah2763_ lpv_ xmd04290_ 01_ 0-- Pending Validation 11/26/2007 00:21:25 11/28/2007 07:23:51 4.52 69.6 / 0.0
faah2763_ lpv_ xmd04290_ 01_ 1-- Pending Validation 11/26/2007 00:20:29 11/28/2007 13:06:13 3.28 80.5 / 0.0

A few that were in stases for longer of HCC ( > 24 hours) did clear, thus not sure if this is a system wide issue.

thx

Re: Validator Problem?

Sek, I suspect this is system-wide. In this thread alone, you have three different projects and different dates when the WUs SHOULD have validated. Due to no response yet here, I tried using Contact Us but nothing there either - yet (almost 72 hours now). Since it doesn't look like it's a project specific problem, we're probably dealing with a process/logic hole - the validator crashes during a run but thinks it processed those WUs it missed so ignores them subsequently e.g. I'm seeing this problem mentioned in other threads so it's worse that it seems here. Any cage-rattling you can do with your back door?

Re: Validator Problem?

..the ones of mine that were stuck all validated after the holiday, so I assume it was done when the 'workers' returned...

As what scribe wrote also, some do clear after much delay and others don't. Having 60 in PV is not shattering... it's how many have a complete quorum, which is not said in Dataman's post. I have 15 in PV of which 1, posted above, is left in this state. I've got 31 pages of work that says 'valid' at this moment to give it perspective and the majority is not DDDT.

Anyhow I posted last Monday, LH posted also this Monday, and have posted above just to signal that we've not forgotten about the matter.

Re: Validator Problem?

What's up, Doc? confused

Well, there hasn't been any announcement but that is not because we haven't been pointing this problem out to the staff.

Hopefully they are all working away in a red-hot frenzy.

wink

Re: Validator Problem?

This was just replied by knreed:

I just scanned the database and there is about 1000 workunits that were in this state. I forced them to go through validation and they have been processed now.

I believe that this is due to an update that occurs a few times a day. I need to look into the way the server code is written but I think that when this update happens, results returned during those few minutes do not properly update the workunit table and therefore do trigger validation.

A new index will likely correct this problem and I will take a look at that now.

Please let us know if anyone still sees complete quorums without them being validated beyond the end of the crunching day (UTC)
