confused "Provide all t" program/process in BOINC

I've had to do a couple new installs of Windows XP and of course one of the first things I do is install BOINC. But each time ZoneAlarm tells me that this program with the cryptic name "provides all t" is trying to access the internet. I've tried different versions of boinc from both the boinc and wcg dl sites and it's in all of them. Could someone explain what this is and what it does?

Thanks.

Re: "Provide all t" program/process in BOINC

This is the description of the setup program created by InstallShield. I have no idea why Zone Alarm is showing you the description instead of the process name or window title. And I have no idea why the description is truncated (except that InstallShield sucks).

And I'm not sure what Internet access it should be doing, either - it is just supposed to extract the files and launch Microsoft Installer.

Not much help, am I?

Re: "Provide all t" program/process in BOINC

It's more than what I had before - Thank you!!!

I was worried it was something dodgy but since it's been around for at least a year (google search turned up one other boinc thread about this) I figured I was just being paranoid.

Although I did have a virus recently that was masquerading as differnt progs - including the boinc install executable, so there was some basis for it.

Since a lot of people use Zone Alarm, it might be worth calling this to the attention of the developers. I have security set to validate component programs - not the default - so it won't show up very often, but some people are going to hit it.
