I would think that as long as it is progressing it is ok...? Maybe some of these WUs are monsters. I can't offer any comparisons as I never seem to get any of these WUs. If the project completion percentage doesn't move then I would be more worried if it was mine.

Just received one on the P4 for cycle 19, block 32 with 5 days deadline, fresh from the feeder so will see if they are extra tough. Will monitor the PF again this round.

Greetings all,
I have been running some tests on my lab machines. There are a few rows that I have noticed being extra nasty. This means the run-times for a work unit are longer than the estimated 10ish hours. Row31 meaning ach1_??_31 work units are going to run longer than most. A few of the cells ran for 3 days on my machine that usually takes 12 hours so please bear with this longer running work units. If you monitor your checkpoints through BOINC, there should be about 56 check points per work unit. The amount of time between the checkpoints will give you a good indication on how long the run should take on your machine. Meaning if a check point took 1 hour to reach the second check point, then it'll take your machine a total 56 hours to run that work unit. -Uplinger |

To add check point monitoring it causes you to mess with some of the config files in BOINC. Please shut down BOINC before making these changes. This means both the client and the manager. If you right click on the agent icon in the task bar, then select exit this should close both.
Next you'll need to find the file called cc_config.xml in your BOINC directory. Most BOINC directories are C:/Program Files/BOINC/. If the file does not exist in that folder create a new file called that and add these lines to it. <cc_config> <log_flags> <checkpoint_debug>1</checkpoint_debug> </log_flags> </cc_config> Save the file and make sure it's name is cc_config.xml. Then restart your BOINC agent and check out your messages Tab. NOTE: This is only available with the 5.10 agent. -Uplinger |

Actually, shut-down is not necessary. Simply make the cc_config.xml change and go to the BOINCmgr "advanced" menu and select "read config file".
----------------------------------------There is a Start Here forum FAQ on the topic of everything relating to Checkpoints.
