I grew up reading stories about the letters written by Kelvin Throop (a fictional character) on his last day of work. Each story showed Kelvin retiring from a different profession. Groklaw has located a real-life Kelvin Throop named Judge Ronald Goodbread retiring from the Washington DC Small Claims Court. Here is his hilarious ruling in the Unsolicited Fax Case : http://www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20071111092540787

Wonder what that judge was musing when he went for a few million in damages over a lost pair of pants at the dry-cleaners.
