Mike and James,
----------------------------------------I downloaded Xfire and I am reading the guildwars.com homepage...reading about all the professions and it reminds of DnD, but James is right-what does make the Christian team different? Are you a Paragon Mike, or a Monk? something good hopefully! Add me as your friend: zifnaboma I don't know what comes next...so I will keep reading tomorrow night. I have to work 12-5 then go to the studio to about 9. Will check back in to Guild wars after that. I don't mind the fighting or the blood and guts just don't want to be on the side of darkness. The Paragon looks like my choice, but what does your team need the most? I see you can make more than 1 character. I would most DEFINETLY want to be on your team MIke.James, I need to give my meez some type of animation besides just standing there LoL. I was trying movements but it is just one type you save, so one must choose carefully what your meez will do repetitively!! There is a couple horses to choose. One is riding and it appears to think that being out of control is funny. my meez looks like she's gonna fall and it is horribly stupid looking. The other horse is still, letting you brush her neck. Kinda sweet :) We'll see.... ![]() |

Diana: I downloaded Xfire and I am reading the guildwars.com homepage...reading about all the professions and it reminds of DnD, but James is right-what does make the Christian team different? Are you a Paragon Mike, or a Monk? something good hopefully! Those are good questions. You can read Spirit of Elijah's wiki page . If you notice, it's almost a duplicate of Spirit of Elisha (my guild). The pages explain it, but GW allows a max of 100 members per guild. We currently have approximately 170, so even though we consider ourselves to be one guild, we are split in two. The way it's going, it looks like we have to create a third guild. If you notice the bottom of the wiki pages, we are in a Christian alliance with seven other guilds. One of them is being disbanded and incorporated into SoE and another, we think, is inactive. By the way, I created both wiki pages. It's my first foray into wiki stuff. I got the About Us info on the wiki pages from SoE's website: http://www.toj.cc/gw. About Us: We are here for the following reasons: -To bring the light of Jesus to Guild Wars -To fellowship with other believers of all walks of life and denominations Guild Wars has an in-game chat window. I like that the guild chat and alliance chat are clean. I encourage you to also post your questions at SoE's forums, which are part of the Christian Gamers Alliance. My username there is Aleron. Diana: Add me as your friend: zifnaboma I did once I figured out you were talking about Xfire. Mine is usafa82.Here's a copy of part of my signature page I use at most GW forums. It contains all of my various in-game character names: Tyrian born (Prophecies, the first game) Aleron Gabriel - W/* 20 Ad Aleron - R/* 20 Elona born (Nightfall) Aleron Cephas - D/* 20 Canthan born (Factions) Aleron Maaaziah - Rt/* 20 Aleron Shaoqiang - A/R 20 Pre-searing Ascalon (Pre-searing part of Prophecies) Aleron Balendin - E/Mo 8 Aleron Salathiel- W/ 11 My favorite is my warrior, Aleron Gabriel. I also have a PvP (Player versus Player) character, but I haven't gotten into PvP much. The Guild Wars website has a lot of info and you can even buy the game online (although that's the most expensive way of buying it!). I'm sure you could get a discount where you work, though. I got my games at various places depending on the price. I searched online and used pricegrabber.com. Another good site for info is the Guild Wars Guru forums. I played a little D&D back in college. All the modern MMPORG games are based on it. By the way, Gary Gygax, the "father" of D&D just passed away. He was a Christian. |

Diana: Explained perfectly Mike!! I'll check at work for the game today. I'll buy it if I don't see like 5 versions with different names. I'll checkout all the links later tonight :) Diana Keep in mind that there are three stand-alone games and one expansion. They are: Prophecies, the first game (box will just say Guild Wars) (2005) Factions, number two (early 2006) Nightfall, um, what comes after two? lol (late 2006) Eye of the North, the expansion, also referred to as GW:EN, came out in 2007. Anet is currently working on Guild Wars 2 which is supposed to be out this year sometime. I recommend you get the first one, Prophecies, but it won't have your Paragon on it. If you want "he who chucks spears" then that is in Nightfall, which is a lot of fun. If you wind up liking the game, you can always get the others. I recommend at least adding Eye of the North because then you can fill something called the Hall of Monuments which will "provide access to unique companions, equipment, miniatures, titles, etc. that can’t be obtained any other way in GW2." Basically GW2 will be set a couple of hundred years further than GW and the characters will be descendants of the heroes you create in GW. |

----------------------------------------I bought the Guild Wars Platinum Edition. It has exactly what you said GW:EN. With my associate discount I got it for $45.00. I won't be able to really look at anything until another day, but it's one step closer :) Thanks!!! ![]() |
