I am the founder and original captain of the Homebrewers team. I turned over the position of team captain to "Fred B" about a year or so ago. Although Fred is still the most productive member of our team as far as crunching goes, we have not heard from him in over six months; his last post to our team thread was on April 2nd, and I have posted a number of inquiries to our thread asking about him without any responses. I tried to use the "Email Your Team Captain" feature on our team page, but it has a notice in red-lettering that says: "There is not currently a captain of your team, or the captain of the team has not opted-in to receive E-mails from members of the team." I therefore have no way to contact Fred, but thought that perhaps an administrator or someone else with authority could look up his email and then send him a brief message that I am trying to contact him about this. I just want to inquire whether he wishes to remain as team captain. It's not that I crave the title and all the power that goes with it -- he certainly 'deserves' it more that me -- but I'd like to try to get things going a bit for our team including the use of the new team challenge feature. I have continued to actively post, try to recruit outside of WCG, and still maintain a team webpage for us -- http://home.alltel.net/billvelek/team.html -- and I am willing to register my email address as Captain for anyone who will ever need to contact me through our WCG team page.

Fred, if you happen to see this, please know that this is not a "mutiny"; you have been a huge help to our team and I hope you continue as a member if you can't continue as Captain. Anyway, if Fred isn't interested in remaining as Captain, I am willing to resume that position. Of course, if another team member wants it, I don't know it you folks put something like that to a vote or if we just 'duke it out' or how it's done.
