If you're in your task manager and accidentaly end the project in the processes bar, is the project automatically sent back to WCG? Please Give me information. I'm kind of new at this.

Hello brendanready,
If you restart BOINC, it should pick up at the last check point and go on from there. It should not be a problem. Lawrence |

brendanready,
----------------------------------------Lawrence has given you the answer if your question was about accidentally killing Boinc, or when you need to power off your computer. In case your question was about accidentally aborting a work unit (WU) while using BoincMgr then - Boinc will start the next WU in your queue or request a new one - Boinc will report the abortion of the WU to the server - the server will In your results page the aborted WU will appear as "in error" and will not be given points/credits but that will be the only "trouble". Cheers. Jean. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by JmBoullier at Oct 16, 2007 1:25:04 AM] |

- the server will resent the aborted WU to another participant JMBouiller: You give good advice. However I got quite a chuckle out reading this particular quote. In English it is quite a pun. I know exactly what you meant when you wrote it. I applaud your command of English as my own command of French is tres pauvre. resent - one meaning is to be angry with (if the "s" takes the sound of "z") resent - past tense of resend (the "s" sounds like "s") resend - to send again Thank you for the humor! Cheers

Sgt.Joe,
----------------------------------------Sadly enough it was not humor, and even less some kind of pun. Only insufficient re-reading. But I appreciate your showing me how funny this mistake was, and your making me look at the meanings of "to resent". I have already read this word but I am quite sure I have not given it its correct meaning. Cheers. Jean. |
