How it works?

Hi,

I would to ask You - how this system works? I've installed Grid AGENT and i want to know, if Agent is constantly communicating with internet?

Or this agent is calculating and working and when is some result finished, it'll send data to internet? And of course agent is communicating dusing his start, when it is downloading some data for calculation?

Thanks

Re: How it works?

The agent downloads data and then, calculates for hours (the agent during this time says "Primary task is executing..."). When the process is completed, it uploads the results to the server and then fetches another work unit (data). Starts all over again.

Re: How it works?

smile Hi infernal
Now that you have the Grid Agent running you do not need to do anthing
However when your current work Unit is finished you will require a connection to the server to Upload your finished Work Unit
At the same time you will receive another Work Unit to process and your Grid Interface will be updated to reflect you points for the Work Unit that you have just completed and returned
Depending on your Internet connection speed, this can take from 2 to 3 minutes with a Broadband connection and 10 to 15 minutes with a modem
I hope this helps
Regards
Edit: RT I must have been still composing mine when you posted yours
