Calculation time increasing

Is it my impression or the WUs are taking longer to be calculated? I have noticed recently that I used to complete a WU around 7 hours and now I am taking 12 hours...

Re: Calculation time increasing

CPU hours or Wallclock?

WCG extended all BOINC all active projects to run an average of 7 hours. Current project averages can be viewed here: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=15583 it looks still to be around 6.3 hours for DDDT

Re: Calculation time increasing

The calculation time on my machine is just TOO LONG. BOINC manager shows that DDDT has been running for 10 hours and there is still 18 more to go. Is this expected behavior? I have an AMD Duron (800 Mhz) with 500 Mb RAM

Re: Calculation time increasing

A little Simple math:

Mu 2.53ghz P4 does about 7-8 hours on the present batches.

2530mhz / 800 mhz = 3.16

3.16* 7 to 8 hours = about 22 to 25 hours.

The refernece box has 1.5gb ram and yours 500mb, so with ram swapping to virtual memory added, the predicted 28 hours is well within limits.

The Duron's small L2 cache and small data path to it meant that it performed pretty poorly in a heavy computation environment. My PIII/866 machines with 256MB RAM do DDDT in 13-15 hours.
