I was just recently sent two DDT units with due dates of 10/2. When I saw the date I figured they were units being sent to other machines to make up the quorum.
When their turn came around, the first started loading, then went right to 100%. Same for the second unit. This was the messages I got. 9/30/2007 12:36:03 PM|World Community Grid|Starting dddt0101a0119_ZINC04803062-0001_02_3 9/30/2007 12:36:03 PM|World Community Grid|Starting task dddt0101a0119_ZINC04803062-0001_02_3 using dddt version 508 9/30/2007 12:38:00 PM|World Community Grid|Deferring communication for 1 min 0 sec 9/30/2007 12:38:00 PM|World Community Grid|Reason: Unrecoverable error for result dddt0101a0119_ZINC04803062-0001_02_3 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005)) 9/30/2007 12:38:00 PM|World Community Grid|Computation for task dddt0101a0119_ZINC04803062-0001_02_3 finished 9/30/2007 12:38:00 PM|World Community Grid|Starting dddt0101a0119_ZINC04665683-0001_04_3 9/30/2007 12:38:00 PM|World Community Grid|Starting task dddt0101a0119_ZINC04665683-0001_04_3 using dddt version 508 9/30/2007 12:39:46 PM|World Community Grid|Deferring communication for 1 min 0 sec 9/30/2007 12:39:46 PM|World Community Grid|Reason: Unrecoverable error for result dddt0101a0119_ZINC04665683-0001_04_3 ( - exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005)) 9/30/2007 12:39:46 PM|World Community Grid|Computation for task dddt0101a0119_ZINC04665683-0001_04_3 finished I hope the Project Staff can make use of this. There have been a few reports of this. They are a new batch of (larger) work units. Clearly there's a problem; we will make sure the techs see this when they get back to work on Monday.
Thank you for reporting this. |

Beats me, they are all fine fine this side and given the small buffer, fresh fresh.
----------------------------------------One thing that has bugged me on one system which has been wonky since the July/August windows patches, to the extend that it forced me to ditch the trusted Avast AV and go with NOD32. Since that, boots are optimal again and stability resumed. I'm convinced from reading around that some MS updates have problems. This machine is a clean Windows and has no MS apps. I'm porting to Sun's Open Office (2.3 major improvement) and investing time to ensure the documents remain MS office interchangeable, before the next step.... some ..n.x OS.

If not done, can only suggest a system boot to restore sanity to your computer. Windows is windows and what's in memory has a tendency to get polluted. Also run a memtest86 (utility) to ensure your RAM is still healthy.

I recently started having an inordinate amount of WCG units, DDDT & FA@H, with errors or hanging up.
I then had a system error message concerning Windows Defender; and then the Infamous BSOD. Subsequently Defender was uninstalled. Since then, I have run at least six units and have had no problems with any of them. Anybody having similar problems may want to turn off defender and see if that helps. Mike F, |

Yep, it's a known show-stopper on Vista too. Set up an exemption for the daemon BOINC.exe and the WCG_xxxxxXXXX sciences, again (see point for of Vista FAQ ). Try and see if that would resolve it.
----------------------------------------Disabled on my PCs, do periodic scans with the duo Ad-Aware 2007 and SpyBot-Search 1.4/1.5. Good antivir and a well set up web browser and concious internetting without going down the obscurity path should keep things clean anyhow.
