any new projects planned?

Are there any new projects planned? If so, what is the approximate timeframe until they are released?

Re: any new projects planned?

Dan, The upcoming (Cancer) is early November, optimistically and a subsequent is maybe Q1/08 (HCMD phase II) and somewhere along the line phase II for Dengue. Somewhere there are a few posts with the project targets and rough time lines.... and everything is shifting later. Mind you, the current work can all keep us busy through end of 2008. We need to finish something should we not and not spread the effort to thin, else it gets to be 2010 before any project finishes.

More in the cards is a 3rd cancer project and also something from the people of Fiocruz who ran the Genome Comparison project.

Re: any new projects planned?

The projectikers do not like to make detailed forecasts. If one project takes a lot of extra time to get going, they can be accused of "missing the date" for the next one.

They are keeping very busy though with the current rollouts, fixing the bugs on current projects, making them work with multiple platforms and future programming. Watch the beta area and the read-only news. New beta tests usually mean that something is very close to opening up for all. If a totally new project appears, new subject areas will show up in the forum here on that day, but not before.

We are not doing "junk science" here like the old "make work" projects at grid.org.

Re: any new projects planned?

I'd almost forgotten about the grorg.

Anyway, looks like UD was gobbled up, as per speculation in another thread. See Univa and UD merge

Interesting. There hasn't been a peep in the Austin newspaper about it, but then, they're not too great on covering the Texas legislature either.

Re: any new projects planned?

For "Univa United Devices" you can have even more fun. Here's only one anagram:

"Advice Uninvited Sue"

Here is an article today (Sep 17) in the Austin Business Journal

and the American-Statesman
