Re: dddt errors

Can you give me an example? Those would be something else since the problem that was fixed above was related specifically to the validator marking things in errors.

Here's the info:

Workunit Status

Project Name: Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together
Created: 12/10/2007 18:54:55
Name: dddt0201o0862_ZINC01957899-0000_00
Minimum Quorum: 2
Initial Replication: 2

Result Name Status Sent Time Time Due /
Return Time CPU Time (hours) Claimed/ Granted BOINC Credit

Interestingly, if I click on the error link, this and the other two give the same thing:

Result Log

<core_client_version>5.10.28</core_client_version>

and that's all. Very different from the others before they were fixed.

Edit: FWIW, here's the status on the other two:

Not that I know it or could definitely say something about it, but I guess those computers had not started on the WUs and the server demanded it's deletion, as is implemented in BOINC. You can see they "errored" out without any CPU-time attached, but with a message from the client about it's version.

Re: dddt errors

keithhenry,

my interpretation of the set you posted, copied below is, that the top one of the 3 was circulated after the DDDT distribution was resumed to make up for the actual "in error" returned result (with the noted 0.00 run time). You don't indicate which is yours, but presume it to be the one with PV on it. It thus looks all in line to me.

dddt0201o0862_ ZINC01957899-0000_ 00_ 2-- In Progress 12/12/2007 23:53:00 12/14/2007 09:29:00 0.00 0.0 / 0.0
dddt0201o0862_ ZINC01957899-0000_ 00_ 0-- Error 12/11/2007 18:41:30 12/12/2007 16:27:32 0.00 0.0 / 0.0
dddt0201o0862_ ZINC01957899-0000_ 00_ 1-- Pending Validation 12/11/2007 18:41:12 12/12/2007 19:24:37 0.57 15.8 / 0.0

Note that i read around and found some members posting that they were manually aborting dddt jobs without waiting on the outcome. sfar as i see the actual automatic abort was never operated and the cases with "waiting to be send" were removed from the distribution cycle. The few i had with 2 error and 2 in holding state all cleared at the end.

It's 9 O'Clock and all is well biggrin

cheers

Edit: Embarrassment as i should have realised that the 'error' result was kh's. Only the owner can see the result log. Would love to see a feature to see the other result logs too as a quorum detail feature. Also, a status code 'user aborted' would also be nice.

Re: dddt errors

Thanks Sek. I love the madhouse this time of year is. I had a bunch of DDDT WUs get crunched overnight on my C2D. I think I probably had a few left that I may have aborted and forgotten about - especially the fact that aborts show up as errors. Since these seem to be processing thru by others, that's probably the case. Sigh, old age is such fun.

Re: dddt errors

I've got a couple DDT errors since the last bad batch last week. One on 12/14, and one on 12/17 - dddt0201n0835_ZINC00129633-0000_00 and dddt0201m0757_ZINC04066219-0000_00 respectively. When I click on the "Error" status on the results status page, this is all I get for info: <core_client_version>6.1.0</core_client_version>

What does this mean? Isn't there supposed to be some long list of code or something????

Please help. Thanks.

Re: dddt errors

Been reading about some customers running with the very very very pre-alpha BOINC 6.1.0. version of the future, absolutely not supported in production. Tested myself 6.1.5 and uninstalled it after 30 minutes as it chewed up all jobs quickly.

Whatever platform you're on, suggest to quickly return to a solid base recommended version you can get from the WCG download page, link on front page.

Added: On BOINC dev forum there is actually a warning not to use 6.1 !
