Hi
I have 2 different PCs, in different towns (mine and my parent's PC, different ISPs, telephone exchanges etc) which haven't received any work units for weeks. When I force a server connection with my agent it says "receiving 3834 bytes of 3834 bytes from the server" but then goes back to a paused state. If I look at my stats page it shows that I haven't sent in a work unit from either PC in over a month. Both PCs are regularly left on overnight, and neither have had any significant changes to them. They are set to accept work units from any projects. Does anyone have any ideas on why this might be happening? |

oops, that's a familiar one. How much RAM have these clients? Probably these machines were working on the small GC or HCMD projects which have finished.
----------------------------------------If you visit My Grid > My Projects and select other active projects except DDDT, you might get themn to work again, BUT.... All remaininng projects on UD, FAAH & HPF2 demand at least 250mb RAM minimum. If you migrate to BOINC, and have 128mb free you will be able to get FA@H work.

Thanks for the reply Sekerob
I tried your solution (unticked DDDT but left the others ticked) and it's working again. For your reference though, my main machine has 2 Gig of RAM and scores 300 on the memory performance and 171 overall performance. I can't check the performance of the other PC, but it has 512Mb RAM. Maybe the client should have some sort of check for this scenario if it's a common problem? Cheers |
