Seems like they already have a solution to many of these diseases - its called DDT. Funny that the name of the project also has DDT in it.

Run times are more or less equal and as spread as FA@H 4.5 to 6/7 hours on a medium fast machine. The Project abbreviation is DDDT btw, not DDT which is a highly togic compound of which the potential permanent genetic impact has as yet not been fully explored.

Hi ssnegi,
Your post about time per work unit should be in a different thread. Here is one: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=13733 I expect that Sekerob will soon be showing a graphical display for DDDT work units. In the mean time, go to Statistics - By Projects - 'Discovering Dengue Drugs - Together' to see how fast DDDT work units take on average. Lawrence |

Hey Ya!
When did Rachel Carson write " Silent Spring "? 1963? It is now 2007. And we are all participating in the single most revolutionary ongoing research experiment ever. Shouldn't we then take the leap of faith, that is missing from a lot of the discussions? Our reliance on the miracle chemicals has resulted in a lot of grief for all of us. According to Friends of the Earth, DDT had become the most prevalent chemical, as far as it's spread geographically, as well as it's dangerous presence in ALL living organisms. They have found it in the tissue of Adelie Penguins, as well as in the tissues of Whale species throughout the world. The presence of this synthetic killer may have a direct bearing on the disappearance of krill throughout the Southern Ocean. Does this research look into ways to harvest that almost boundless natural pharmacy, the rain forest? See, my general desire is for all of us, crunchers and scientists, to take the leap away from conventional problem solving. A more chaotic approach may be in order. We live in a chaotic existence. Not necessarily destructive, nor beneficient. Just what is. Yet a guy named Wise Heise... ![]() I truly hope that more natural occurring strains, or compounds, or combinations, may come of this research! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
