Hi,
----------------------------------------For some reason, when I started a WU, I got the Human Proteome Folding task and data - instead of Fight Aids at Home? I checked my configuration and only FAAH was checked - and the 'share' was unchecked. (I run other BOINC projects and 'share' there..) Has FAAH completed it current work? I looked at the Scripps web page - but it had a date of 2005. Is there a way to see how much pending work there is with FAAH? Any clues as to the problem? THANKS! Jay ![]() |

Please read the Member News forum. Here, in particular: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=15591
----------------------------------------The Scripps FightAIDS@Home website was last updated a couple of months ago. 2005 was when the page was originally written. They aren't great at keeping the dates in sync with reality.... [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Aug 9, 2007 4:12:07 PM] |

Thank you Rudi,
----------------------------------------Yes, I did not look under the correct forum. Other projects list their status on a web page. Some have a link to that web page from the Boinc command side-panel. For Instance: http://boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap/ (Which also is out of work - and notes it in red.) After spending 30 or so minutes trying to find such a status for FAAH, I did look through the forums to see if anyone else had yet reported this. I had no idea it would be under a forum called "Member News". Oh well.. I am glad to read that FAAH will back - when I can donate my computer time to their project. Jay ![]() |

Probably/Maybe later today (Friday Aug.10'07 CST) will the FA@H update launch. Critical is that all old release work units are being processed. Once the feeders need not send more 'old' work, will the technicians start sending out the new FA@H application and work.
----------------------------------------ALERT: Some will find their AntiVirus or Firewall acting up asking for new permission due the new version of science application. Threadmaster users will have to update the key with the new app version name/number in the registry and restart that CPU throttle control service. Maybe knreed can tell us in ahead what the new name/version will be, so users can set the parameters before the launch so it can run unimpeded when the Eastern Hemisphere is asleep. The old releases were: WCGRID_AutoDock.exe (UD agent is not likely changing) wcg_faah_autodock_5.28_windows_intelx86 (BOINC windows) wcg_faah_autodock_5.30_i686-pc-linux-gnu (BOINC Linux) wcg_faah_autodock_5.30_i686-apple-darwin (BOINC Mac)

Just a heads up to everyone - their are 4 workunits waiting for results to be returned so that it can be validated. Once those 4 workunits complete we will be able to release the new version of FightAIDS@Home.
And of course just to reassure everyone - there is PLENTY of work to be done. |

Kevin, are you going to issue a cancel command so any backup copies not yet started wont get started, or is that really *it*.

2 to go
Once the workunits are validated, any copies not yet distributed will be automatically canceled. Additionally, the next time a computer assigned a result for a workunit that has already been validated contacts our servers, they will get a message that says <abort_if_not_started> for the result. However, this message can only be processed by BOINC 5.10 clients. |
