I am using BOINC 5.10.13 on a laptop using XP Pro SP2 with 2GB RAM and an Intel dual core 1.83GHz processor and I am using both cores.
I keep finding tasks that have completed a variable amount of work that are shown as running, but are not consuming and CPU time. I have tried suspending them and resuming, but they do not do any more processing and stay at the same completion %. I have BOINC running on another dual core system, XP Pro SP2 but with an AMD dual core chip, and I don't have this problem. My other systems are using the UD agent as they are single core, and again I have not had this problem on them. |

There have been some reports of BOINC showing tasks as "running" when they aren't. I strongly advise you (and everyone!) not to use BOINC 5.10 until WCG make it their recommended version.
Use 5.8 instead. In case this is a WCG issue, please will you list the affected work unit names? Thanks. |

From your post I understand that you have tried suspending/resuming the locked tasks. Have you also tried suspending/resuming the WCG project itself (from the "Projects" tab)?
----------------------------------------From past reports, when suspend/resume has been successful at unlocking a task it was always at the Project level. Cheers. Jean. |

I have found one instance under 5.10.13 of BOINC where BOINC Manager was failing to update the status. When I opened the Window's task manager window, the science was still running consuming 98% of the processor. Once I closed the task manager window, BOINC Manager updated the status 1.5% and started working correctly. Don't know if this is your same problem or not.
It's only happened on one instance out of 3 I have running so far. I have had the 3 running for about a week now. |

It's one of the known bugs.... why 5.10.13 became 'recommended' is a mystery.... if wanting to risk continued problems stick with it and or upgrade to 5.10.17 for windows *or* as per Didactylos go back to the proven 5.8.16. knreed did make a post to say that he has urged Berkeley to delay recommendation of new releases until proven in the field by a wider "testing" audience.
