Many of the computers, that I use to run on the FAAH project, lack
----------------------------------------a screen or a keyboard. I need to regularely check if these computers are running. Would it be possible to replace the column "Last Results Returned (UTC)" on the "Device Manager/Device Statistics" page to display last time any communication (at all) took place, not taking into consideration if a WU was downloaded or uploaded or if it was valid? Then I could see easy if a computer have stopped, and correct this problem. A column "Time since last OK communication" is what I am looking for. A more advanced approach would be to compare communication time with normal WU compute time, and use a green ![]() ![]() Currently I use the "Results Status" page, and then check each computer at a time. // Bo ![]() |

Hi Protego,
----------------------------------------It's an idea to have it also print last contact, but I think it is a little difficult as the Result Status page is a real time report where as the Device statistics page is only updated every 12 hours and intended to show the last valid result returned. The filter at the top allows limiting to 3 days, so could think of it having a filter added for last day. It must be said that the list sorted from freshest time of contact to oldest, so it is at least clear when a device has last returned a result. As for managing multiple devices presently, suggest to have a try with BOINCview. In there is one view that shows all devices and what state they are in. 1.4.2 is stable, but have been using 1.5.0 Beta 8 for a long time reliably. cheers ADDED: Did you know that you can connect all your BOINC clients one by one via the BOINCmgr Advanced Menu, Select Computer? You can even open up multiple BOINCmgr and have them connect to different PC's but that will eat into your network speed and a little CPU time. It requires a little setup work, but can be done over LAN and WAN. I've been doing that for some time now.
