applause WCG-Client for public/restricted sites

My small idea:

I'm thinking of those thousands of PC's running 24/7 and mainly doing nothing:

Internet Cafes, Students Internet Rooms @University, Training Rooms, IT Teaching Sites in Schools & Universities, etc.

All those could be equipped with a client ... if this client would be password protected or not accessible for "normal" users except admins.

Right from the start 30 computers at our university would take part, then, if the client would be admin-friendly and user restricted/invisible.

cool Re: WCG-Client for public/restricted sites

If you run ud.exe as a service, it runs no matter who is logged on but is invisible (meaning no icon in the tray) unless you specify that it is to interact with users. There are a number of threads on this, and a sample .vbs script on RT's Unofficial WCG site at http://www.unofficialworldcommunitygrid.com/index.html
