For a few months I had ben using the UD client on Windows Vista. Recently, I've had problems with it so I decided to give the BOINC agent a try.
----------------------------------------It's been running for over 18 hours now. It's a lot faster, (I increased the max amount of CPU usage) and doesn't cause Vista to crash. However, I am not getting any points. When I check my stats I see the number of results I've returned (a lot more than any other day so far). Perfectly normal. Firstly, points are calculated and awarded once a quorum has been reached. With FAAH, 3 valid and matching results have to be returned. With HPF2 it's 15 results. Just keep turning in results and points should start appearing soon. After a few days, you will reach an equilibrium whereas older results that you turned in will reach quorum as fast as you are turning new results. But you will always have a list of results marked as "pending validation", ie-they are waiting for the other results to come back in.
----------------------------------------Secondly, stats are only updated twice a day(0:00 and 12:00 UTC), so you have to wait for one of the updates for the bar graphs to change.  |

To see resuts in the "pending validation" status he mentioned, you will need to click on "Results Status" which you will see in the list at the left of the page that comes up when you click on "My Grid". Waiting for validation is one of the only comprimises when switching from UD to BOINC. After you have used it for a while and played around with all the features in the agent itself as well as the ones under "My Grid" here on the website you'll grow to love it's ability to be taylored to your specific needs and preferences.
